Ford Ranchero

Ford Ranchero by mnoho ľudí mylne označilo ako pick-up. Jedná sa však o kategóriu coupé utility. V Austrálii a Novom Zélande používajú názov Ute. Je to typ karosérie ktorý je odvodený od dvoj dverového coupé, s nákladovou plochou podobnou pick-upom. Postavené sú na platforme osobných automobilov. Tento štýl vznikol v Austrálii v tridsiatych rokoch, na báze automobilu Ford Model A. V roku 1932 poslala farmárova žena z oblasti Victoria v Austrálii list s nasledujúcim obsahom: „vozidlo, s ktorým môžeme chodiť v nedeľu do kostola, a ktoré nám v pondelok odvezie prasce na trhovisko“. Tieto vozidlá sa stali veľmi obľúbenými a ostatní výrobcovia začali Ford nasledovať.

Many people will say, that ford ranchero is a pickup. But i tis not. It’s coupe utility,in Australia and New Zealand they are using term Ute. Body type is derived from two doors coupe, with added open cargo space. This style was made in 1930s. First car was buit on Ford Model A. In 1932 sent a wife of an farmer letter: „we neeed a car with which we can go to church on Sunday, and also deliver pigs to the market at Monday. This cars become very popular, and other Manafacturers began to follow Ford.

Ford Ranchero bol uvedený na trh v roku 1957. Ranchero disponovalo väčšou nosnou kapacitou o 23 kilogramov ako plnohodnotný Ford F-Series v základnej tonáži. Ranchero však nepatrilo medzi čistokrvných pracantov, a tak ponúkal aj komfortné prvky výbavy, lepšie pohodlie, či lepšie jazdné vlastnosti. Ford týmto modelom vyplnil na Americkom trhu medzeru, pretože žiadny výrobca neponúkal takýto model. Ako prvý zareagoval Chevrolet a v roku 1959 predstavil dnes už pomerne známe El Camino. Ranchero sa vyrábalo celkovo v siedmych generáciách, pričom sa vyrobilo tesne cez 500 tisíc kusov.

However, the Ranchero was not one of the purebred workers, so it also offered comfortable equipment elements, better comfort or better driving characteristics. With this model, Ford has filled a gap in the American market, as no manufacturer has offered such a model. Chevrolet was the first to react and in 1959 it introduced the now relatively well-known El Camino. The ranchero has been produced for a total of seven generations, with just over 500,000 units produced.

Model predstavuje druhú generáciu, ktorá sa vyrábala v rokoch 1960 – 1965. Jej úplný názov znel Ford Falcon Ranchero. Z dôvodu že model sa od prvej generácie zmenšil a bol postavený práve na základoch modelu Falcon. V USA začali byť populárne menšie vozidlá ako napríklad VW Bus pick-up, či Chevrolet Corvair pick-up. Svoju rolu zohrala aj ekonomická kríza v 50tých rokoch minulého storočia. Základný motor bol radový šesťvalec s obsahom 2.8L. Na opačnom konci sídlil „véčkový“ osemvalec s obsahom 4.7L. Nosnosť vozidla bola približne 360 kilogramov.

The basic engine was an in-line six-cylinder with a capacity of 2.8L. At the opposite end was the “clamped” eight-cylinder with a capacity of 4.7L. The load capacity of the vehicle was approximately 360 kilograms.

Model od firmy MotorMax je vyhotovený v mierke 1:24. Veľmi zaujímavá je zelenomodrá farba modelu, na svetle naozaj vynikne. Detail na modeli nie je veľa, sú to len nápisy FORD, či Ranchero, ktoré sú ale vyvedené kvalitne, a bez chyby. Čo však stojí za zmienku, sú evidenčné čísla vozidla, ktoré sa naozaj podarili. Vzhľad tiež oživujú chrómované nárazníky a predná maska. Nenechajte sa zaraziť absenciou spätných zrkadiel, v tej dobe ešte vôbec neboli rozšírené. Bežnou vecou bolo že sa ponúkali za príplatok, alebo len na vodičovej strane. Na oboch koncoch nájdeme vkladané svetlomety a obzvlášť tie vzadu vyzerajú dobre.

Model from the MotorMax company is made in a scale of 1:24. The green-blue color of the model is very interesting, it really stands out in the light. There is not much detail on the model, it is only the inscriptions FORD or Ranchero, which are, however, done well, and without error. What is worth mentioning, however, are the registration numbers of the vehicle, which really succeeded. The look is also enhanced by chrome bumpers and a front grille. Do not be stopped by the absence of rear-view mirrors, they were not widespread at all at that time. The common thing was that they were offered at an additional cost, or just on the driver’s side. At both ends we find inserted headlights and especially those at the back look good.

Model má otvárateľné dvere a kapotu. Bohužiaľ, otváranie zadného čela korby tu nie je, čo ma tiež zamrzelo. Kapota však drží v hornej polohe a jej lakovanie je tak isto na dobrej úrovni. Pod kapotou som čakal trochu kreativity od výrobcu, ale opäť nič. Len plastový odliatok v čiernej farbe. Čo sa týka detailov motora, je to v poriadku, ale trochu farebnosti by určite len prospelo. Interiér je spracovaný priemerne. Ako prvé mi do oči udrel chrómovaný volant. No, možno sa to niekomu bude páčiť, mne osobne nie. Pekným detailom sú ale ovládacie páčky stieračov a prevodovky. Na mieste budíkov nájdeme nálepku, ktorá palubovku trochu oživuje.

The model has an openable door and a hood. Unfortunately, opening the rear of the body is not here, which is a shame. However, the hood holds in the upper position and its painting is also at a good level. Under the hood, I expected a little creativity from the manufacturer, but again nothing. Only plastic casting in black. As for the engine details, it’s fine, but it could have been more colorful. The interior is processed on average. The chrome steering wheel hit me in the eye first. Well, maybe someone will like it, not me personally. However, the control levers of the wipers and gearbox are a nice detail. In place of alarm clocks, we find a sticker that enlivens the deck a little.

Veľmi pekné sú kolesá, ktoré farbou ladia s karosériou. Chrómovaný stred, či biele pruhy na pneumatike dotvárajú dobový vzhľad a vyzerajú parádne. Kolesá robia auto, tu to platí určite. Škoda však, že predná náprava je pevná, a nedá sa natáčať. Podvozok obsahuje tiež zopár prvkov ako napríklad prevodovku, hnací hriadeľ, výfuk, či uloženie náprav. Model drží po hromade šesť skrutiek, mohli byť ale v čiernej farbe, aby sa na podvozku stratili, takto tam dosť svietia.

The wheels, which match the color of the body, are very nice. The chrome center or white stripes on the tire complete the period look and look great. The wheels make a car, this is definitely the case here. It is a pity that the front axle is fixed and cannot be rotated. The chassis also contains a few elements such as a gearbox, drive shaft, exhaust, or axle mounting. The model holds six screws in a pile, but they could have been black to get lost on the chassis, so they shine a lot there.

Model určite neradím k tomu najlepšiemu na trhu, skôr do priemeru, avšak v dosť veciach sklamal. Na prvý pohľad ale vyzerá veľmi dobre a myslím si že medzi viacerými modelmi v tejto mierke sa jeho nedostatky stratia. Otázne je či to za to stojí.

I certainly don’t advise the model on the best on the market, but rather on average, it disappointed in a lot of things. At first glance, it looks very good and I think that among several models in this scale, its shortcomings will be lost. It is questionable whether it is worth it.
